We believe foster homes are the future of lifesaving, so we want to show foster caregivers some big love! We’ll help your foster pets get some exposure in our Show Us Your Foster contest – are you in?
All you have to do is upload a photo and some basic information about your foster dog or cat via the form on our website. Since all fosters are winners in the world of lifesaving – after you enter, your photo will be shown in a gallery on our website and we’ll share some of our favorites on our social pages!
But wait, there’s more! As if you needed another reason to show off your amazing foster pet, our celebrity judges Jackson Galaxy and Dr. Marty Becker will hand-pick one cat and one dog as the top winners. Those pets will each receive a $50 Facebook ad promoting them in their geographic region, and will each be featured for one week as the stars of our Facebook cover photo!
What’s the secret to winning? Both judges are looking for a photo and description that conveys the personality and appeal of the pet, and makes people want to learn more. We have a feeling it’s going to be a tough decision!
The contest runs from September 12 at 8am ET to September 25 at 9pm ET. Winners will be announced via our website and email September 28 at 6pm ET, so be sure to check your inbox! You’ll have 24 hours to reply before we move on to the next runner-up.
And don’t worry – if you win and the pet gets adopted before the ad goes live, you can use it toward your next foster pet, or another pet from the organization you foster for! Pets must be fostered through a United States 501c3 shelter or rescue group, or a municipal animal shelter.

Jackson Galaxy is everyone’s favorite Cat Daddy, and he’ll be selecting our winning foster cat! The host of Animal Planet’s My Cat From Hell and founder of the Jackson Galaxy Foundation, his new Cat Pawsitive program is enriching day-to-day life for cats in shelters, building new skills for cats as well as shelter staff and volunteers, promoting the human-cat bond and getting more cats adopted.
Dr. Marty Becker
Dr. Marty Becker, “America’s Veterinarian,” has spent his life working toward better health for pets and the people who love them. In recent years, his realization that it’s impossible to provide for pets’ physical well-being without equal focus on their emotional well-being led him to found the Fear FreeSM initiative. He’ll be selecting our winning foster dog.
