The Maddie’s® Apprenticeship Program is helping you take your resolutions to the next level by kicking off the New Year with eight apprenticeship opportunities. The catch? You must apply before January 11!
Do you want to defend the lives of feral and semi-feral cats by implementing a sustainable lifesaving program in your community? Or maybe creating a foster program designed to save more medium and large adult dogs and reduce length of stay at your shelter or rescue is more your thing? How about saving dogs with parvo in your community?
If you answered yes to any of the above questions, we have an apprenticeship for you!
Apprenticeships are currently being offered in the following categories:
- Fostering
- Community cats
- Medical
- Operations
Maddie’s® Apprenticeship Program is an opportunity for shelters and rescue organizations to share ideas and strategies to improve lifesaving. Through a blended learning experience, hands-on and online, organizations looking to improve their practices will benefit from the wisdom shared by well-established programs that have proven to save lives.
“We know there are great things happening in shelters all over the country,” said Rory Adams, Education Specialist for Maddie’s Fund. “For these apprenticeships, we’ve sought out the best of the best and are thrilled to be able to help those programs teach others what’s really working to save more lives. These programs are exchanges of passion; people are able to teach, inspire and be proud of the work they’re doing while impacting communities outside their own.”
The best part? Apprenticeship students leave and go back to their own communities and start to save lives they haven’t been able to previously save. “It’s amazing to witness the impact education can have on animal welfare,” said Adams. “People are eager to learn and implement these programs and more animal lives are being saved. And it’s working! New programs are cropping up all over the country from apprenticeship students!”
