Could your shelter or rescue group’s foster program use a hand?

Maddie’s® Pet Assistant (MPA) is a free app for mobile phones and tablets developed by Maddie’s Fund® to help animal shelters and rescue organizations provide support to, and communicate with, their foster families about the pets in their care. If you have a foster program, you can register for the app.

Sarah Chiles, Foster Case Manager for the Fredericksburg Regional SPCA, has been using the app for several months to keep in touch with foster parents and the status of their foster pets. “The app sends email questionnaires that ask just the right questions,” she said. “I love that based on the answers given, it also sends educational materials to the foster parent. The color coding system in the emails provides information at a glance and helps to identify the priority cases instantly.”

Chiles is also a foster caregiver herself. “As a foster parent, I love the Maddie’s Pet Assistant App, she said. “It gives me a lot of information on how to care for my foster pets and I appreciate the reminders it provides to get my pets vaccinated on time.”
