If you’re already using Maddie’s Pet Forum, you know it’s the go-to place for shelter advice, shared resources, management tips and more. Now we’ve opened it up to offer a whole new world just for pet caregivers!

In their own dedicated part of the Forum, pet caregivers can use its discussions to exchange ideas about adoption, fostering, health, nutrition, behavior and training. At the same time, topics like advocacy, as well as fundraising and conferences, are open for pet caregivers as well.

People who love pets can get expert answers from the shelter and animal welfare industry and from their peers. By providing invaluable expertise and education to pet caregivers, shelter and rescue staff and volunteers can enhance the community for adopters.

“In addition to pet caregivers receiving support from their peers, we want the shelter and rescue forum members to respond to pet caregivers questions as well, and so far they have been,” said Kim Domerofski, Manager of Partnerships & Collaboration at Maddie’s Fund.

The forum provides pet caregivers with support in caring for and keeping their pets, while it also exposes them to the broader shelter and rescue topics that are just one click away. Pet caregivers can learn so much from the robust shelter and rescue topics. By helping each other, we are also educating pet owners about the industry. It’s a win-win!

Just as on the shelter and rescue side, pet caregivers can ask and answer questions; respond to other people’s answers; follow discussions, topics and members; and create and join public and private groups.
