Foster express challenge

If you’re looking for a way to make the holiday season a little more magical and increase your lifesaving, the Foster Express Challenge is for you!

The Foster Express Challenge is designed to help shelters get more animals out of the shelter during the hectic holiday season, get them more exposure, as well as attract new foster caregivers. Did we mention we’ll be awarding $55,000 in grants to shelters across the U.S., #ThanksToMaddie?

Registration for the challenge closes Friday, November 8th at 11:59pm PT. The challenge itself will run from November 22, 2019 to January 10, 2020.

For this challenge, we are focusing on short-term fostering only. Think field trips, sleepovers, weekend stays and holiday fostering! If you’ve never offered a short-term foster program before, then this is the perfect time to start. We’ll be sharing helpful examples, research and marketing tips to keep you chugging along.  If you already have an existing short-term foster program, then you are on the express train to success!

Short-term fostering allows dogs and cats to get a break from the shelter – whether it’s for a couple hours, a weekend or a week. You can see the research for yourself.

Wondering about cat field trips? Just ask Fearless Kitty Rescue in Fountain Hills, AZ! They’ve been known to take their cats out for a spin in a stroller so they can enjoy the fresh air and feel the wind between their fur. Not only will the animals enjoy a break, but you’ll learn more about their personality, and those left at the shelter (staff and animals alike!), will benefit from a quieter shelter.

Don’t delay, register for the Foster Express Challenge now before it leaves the station!

[Please note: This challenge is for organizations with a physical shelter building only.]
