Not that long ago, animal shelters were skeptical that anyone would want to adopt an older pet. Today, senior pets are celebrated year-round, especially in November, Adopt a Senior Pet Month. At Maddie’s Fund®, the last thing we’d want is for anyone to feel left out of this hottest of hot trends, so we’d like to introduce Eddie.

Eddie is the official spokesdog for awareness about a new epidemic sweeping the nation as the holidays approach: “No-dog-at-home-syndrome.” It’s brutal! Symptoms include feelings of loneliness, dry face, cold lap, and eerie quiet when you get home.

If you have any of these symptoms, have no fear… we have the cure! Just adopt a senior pet of your own. And wonder of wonders, if you get your application in right away, you may even be able to adopt Eddie himself!

Eddie is a sweet, super cuddly, extremely affectionate, 8-year-old Jack Russell mix in the San Francisco Bay Area, who is sure to permanently eliminate all of your symptoms of no-dog-at-home-syndrome. Specifically, he cures dry face with a patented kiss application process; cold lap will be a thing of the past when he snuggles in it; and loneliness simply cannot survive in the same room with Eddie.

Like any treatment, Eddie does have some side effects, including reduced stress, more exercise, and a persistent feeling of happiness and joy. He also cannot be mixed with other dogs.
