Cat minions: You won’t want to miss this important public service announcement from Midori!

Humans:

For reasons no feline and perhaps not even any canine could comprehend, at this time last year I found myself living on the streets. As a senior cat with kidney disease, this was clearly a crime against felinity.

Fortunately kind humans at the Nevada Humane Society agreed, and they attempted to locate my missing humans, who due to their reluctance to be microchipped or have GPS installed in their bodies proved elusive.

They arrange for a temporary living situation they called a “foster home,” where my medical needs were attended to and I was kept comfortable. Sensing this human categorized as a “foster mom” had great potential,  I mewed quite insistently that she should adopt me.

Since humans are typically slow when it comes to understanding the simplest communications from cats, it took months before she heard my message. Good minions really are so hard to find.

It happened at Maddie’s® Pet Adoption Days this spring, and I’ll never forget when I first saw her realize I had chosen her, and she complied by instantly adopting me. I was so relieved to be understood at last!

Since joining her home, and getting to know my new brother Mr. Mertz, also adopted from Nevada Humane, I’ve gotten back to my ideal healthy weight, and spend my time taking long naps on my personal cat tree, getting my belly rubbed for hours on end, and being worshipped.

My human told them at Maddie’s Fund®, “I absolutely love Midori; he is one of the best cats I have ever had!” (I’m sure that was a typo and should have been “the best cat.”)

I’d like to thank my new brother Mr. Mertz for training this human in excellence in feline care (although some remedial language study would not have been amiss), and of course, the minions at the Nevada Humane Society.

Above all, #ThanksToMaddie for making it possible for me to be in the right place at the right time to find my destined human!
