If your qualifying U.S. animal shelter is willing to save more cats, Maddie’s Fund® has $1,000 for you!

Our grants to support enrolling in Shelter Animals Count last month went so well we thought we’d do it again! This time it’s for our funded Million Cat Challenge, a shelter-facing joint project of the Maddie’s® Shelter Medicine Program at the University of Florida and the UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program.

The Challenge is designed to help animal shelters save 1 million more cats over five years by providing better care for cats while they’re in shelters, improving operations, reducing intake, keeping community cats healthy and safe, and doing more adoptions. It does that through a powerful peer-to-peer network of support, experience and advice, along with the guidance of Dr. Julie Levy of UF and Dr. Kate Hurley of UC Davis, two of the leading shelter medicine and feline health experts in the world. Just two years in, the five-year program has already saved over half a million cats and enrolled nearly 400 shelters.

If your shelter…

  • Is located in the U.S.
  • Handles cats
  • Has a physical location that’s open to the public for adoptions
  • Is willing to implement at least one of the Challenge’s five key initiatives
  • Is committed to saving more cats
  • Joins the private Million Cat Challenge discussion group
  • Will provide three data points for the period of the Challenge plus one baseline year

…then this grant opportunity is for you!

If you already signed up for the Challenge, you can still get cash! Just refer other qualifying shelters, and you’ll receive $500 for each one that meets the requirements.
