Are you an animal lover with excellent public speaking and communication skills, knowledge of learning theories and lesson and curriculum planning experience? If so, you might be a great fit for our Education Specialist position.

Or maybe you lead with your ability to multi-task in a deadline-oriented environment, have a high level of organization and attention to detail, with the ability to prepare board summaries and approval requests, confirmation letters and payment letters? If so, you might make a great Grants Specialist!

Both full-time positions are currently open at the Maddie’s Fund® corporate office in Pleasanton, CA, and are accepting applications.

In many ways, the requirements for the position are similar: affection for animals, concern for their welfare and a willingness to accommodate animals in the workplace; an open, positive attitude; enjoyment of working in a highly collaborative, team-oriented environment where a diversity of opinion is valued and encouraged.

In other ways, the roles and responsibilities of the two positions are quite different.

The Education Specialist is primarily responsible for collaborating with the education team to develop learning objectives, topics, curricula and content for educational initiatives. Additionally, this person will assess the effectiveness of educational initiatives and make recommendations for improvement to the leadership team.

The Grants Specialist provides functional support for administering assigned grants programs. This may include preparation and tracking grant authorizations, confirmation letters, payments and general correspondence with grantees. She or he will also need to assist grantees with Portal access, reporting requirements and grant-related questions, as well as participate in team review of applications for assigned grant programs and preparing board summaries for grant approval.
