In case you missed it, Petco Love (formerly Petco) has been busy making changes to help keep more people and pets together! In fact, they just launched Petco Love Lost (formerly Finding Rover), a national resource to help easily reunite lost pets using their patented facial recognition technology. Pet companies, animal welfare organizations, and veterinarians have partnered with them to make Petco Love Lost the central, go-to place to send lost pets home.

In case that isn’t enough to convince you to join this free service (and upload your own, personal animals to the database), the eye-opening statistics on their website or stories about family reunions should do the trick.

According to Petco Love Lost’s website, “It’s estimated that one in three pets will go lost during their lifetime — 10 million annually. And without a central place to report them lost or found, many may never be reunited with their families. At Petco Love, we’re determined to change that. In fact, we won’t stop until every lost pet finds their way home. That’s why we created Petco Love Lost, a national resource that uses pet facial recognition technology to empower animal-loving communities to reunite lost pets.”

Be sure to join the 880 animal shelters have already joined, and be sure to share with your community to upload their own pets! There are over 53,000 searchable pets in the database. You’ll also find important resources and information about what to do if you’ve lost or found a pet.
