How can advocacy have a positive impact on treating all dogs equally?

Individuals and communities can work together to eliminate breed-related stigmas, abolish outdated policies, and improve the chances for targeted breeds to find homes.

Advocacy can also help the families of targeted dog breeds get access to resources that will keep those dogs in their loving homes.

At the recent American Pets Alive! Conference in Austin, Texas, Leala Ward-Vinson, Megan Ransom and Lindsey Ortiz of the Love-A-Bull dog foster team gave a two-part presentation on meeting challenges related to re-homing/rescue, shelter and community relationships, owner support, breed-discriminatory legislation and models for progress all over the country.
