It never fails. You’re bottle-feeding one in a litter of hungry kittens, and put the bottle down to help the one you just fed relieve himself. And then the bottle spills — probably all over your bed, given the round-the-clock nature of bottle-feeding.
That was an all too common occurrence for Niki Gottesman, foster care coordinator at Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in West Palm Beach, Florida. Fortunately, she ran out of paper towels one night.
“It just occurred to me, instead of wasting paper towels to stimulate the kittens to go potty, and going through rolls of paper towels, why not use toilet paper? So I did. And that’s when I discovered, if you fill the tube up with some extra toilet paper, a kitten bottle can fit right inside the roll.”
Not only does this keep the bottle from spilling, it also keeps it warm. “It’s faster, and it just makes more sense,” she said.
