Blind, diabetic, lethargic, and sporting a hairless body and adrenal tumor. Sound like an easy dog to find a home for? Add in her senior status, and the prospects could daunt the most dedicated shelter, rescue group or adopter.

Fortunately for Roo, a whole lot of dauntless people came together to create an Adopt a Senior Pet Month success story.

After veterinary care and some time in a loving foster home, Roo found her safe haven with Hannah. Now she’s fluffy and full of life, her diabetes is under control, and, amazingly, her tumor is gone.

And new mom Hannah? She’s in love! And it’s all #ThanksToMaddie!
