While the year’s end can be a time for looking back, at Maddie’s Fund^®, we’re looking ahead. Ahead to a time of continued positive change in our movement, as all of us build on the gains we’ve made and lessons we’ve learned about lifesaving — and making the lives of pets and their people better, too.

While there are many ways to accomplish that, we’re strong believers in the power of foster care for pets. We’ve come to see it as the gold standard in sheltering – and when we say “standard,” we mean that we’d like it become the standard not the exception.

We believe foster caregivers are the new VIPs of our movement, and in the coming year we aim to increase the number of foster caregivers by making it easier for them to foster.

We also want to put financial support for foster programs front and center, and to encourage foster care giving programs in every animal organization.

Those are our dreams, our promises, and our commitment for 2018. So here’s to an incredible year to come, with much gratitude for everything you did for the animals in the year that’s closing. Happy New Year and Thanks to Maddie!
