Louisville police officers with buddy

Looking for ways to get your shelter’s dogs out into the community so they can get seen by more potential adopters? Consider partnering with your local police department!

That’s what Louisville Metro Animal Services (LMAS) did after Stephanie Jackson got back from the Maddie’s® Medium and Large Adult Dog Foster Apprenticeship at Pima Animal Care Center in Tucson, AZ, in March. She was so excited at what she’d learned that she started the program at LMAS literally on the same day she returned to work!

“All thanks to Maddie’s,” she said. “We would never be able to do this stuff without the inspiring apprenticeship!”

Here’s a post demonstrating that the Louisville Metro Police Department is all-paws-on-board with the new program:

As if that wasn’t good news enough, it also got picked up by the local media. Everyone wins!
