So… you want a grant? Don’t miss the next Innovation Grants cycle! The application window will be open from October 22 – 29, 2018.
As a reminder, Maddie’s Fund® is offering up to $5,000 to implement a new program at your shelter or rescue organization that will advance lifesaving. We are looking for applications that propose to implement a new program to increase lifesaving at your organization. This grant opportunity is not designed to cover general operating costs or capital campaigns.
The lifesaving categories offered for this round are: Alternatives to Intake, Capacity for Care, Engaging the Public, Managed Admissions and Return to Field. There are definitions and examples of the categories on our website. And, if you haven’t already done so, we encourage you to check out our recent webcast, So, You Want Some Money? How to apply for Maddie’s Fund Innovation Grants, now free on-demand. It answers frequently asked questions about our Innovation Grants as well as demos of how to register for, complete and submit your application through the Maddie’s Fund Grants Portal, and tells you where to go for ideas, suggestions and a list of past recipients.

Per usual, we had some fantastic ideas come out of this last round.
“Paws for Life Rescue in Michigan is offering compassion fatigue workshops for their volunteers, while Animal Welfare Institute in Washington, DC, will be holding workshops targeting both animal welfare and social service agencies,” explained Kelly Clardy, Senior Grants Specialist at Maddie’s Fund.
In addition, Live Love Animal Rescue in Long Beach, CA, will be designating “Woof Agents” for 10 hard-to-place dogs (because, why should only athletes and actors have talent agents?).
