chicago police cat

We all know that police departments have K-9 officers, but why should dogs get all the glory?

That’s no longer the case at one Chicago precinct. Gizmo the cat recently became part of the department’s community outreach program. The 8-year-old was living on easy street with his police family, but now he has a job after an elementary student wondered during a K-9 visit why there were no police cats.

He’s now known as¬†Pawfficer Gizmo, the first ever recruit in the CPD Meownted Unit as part of the¬†Community Outreach Program.

Welcome, Gizmo. We hope you have a great week!
