PAWS video

When Kaye Towner heard one of her favorite Queen songs on the radio, “Somebody to Love,” she was struck by an idea. “I just knew it would be an amazing dog rescue video,” she said.

According to Northwest Florida Daily News, Towner reached out to Manda Moore, the Community Development Director for Panhandle Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), about the idea. Moore was on board.

From there, she contacted Sony about using the song for a nonprofit video. Queen decided to allow her to buy the rights for $250 to use for a year. She was put in touch with Payton Abner, a high school senior with a knack for video production.

Abner thought it was a great idea. “When I saw all of the animals at PAWS, I was surprised to see how friendly, clean and even well-trained they are,” she said. “Many people overlook shelter animals without realizing their best friend could be waiting in one of those kennels.”
