Did you know that just one hour a week spent with close to 200 of your animal welfare cohorts all across the globe has the potential to pay off in serious ways? It’s true – from program ideas, presentations and discussions to challenge the status quo and networking opportunities. We’re talking about the international calls that take place on Monday and Friday mornings, and we’d love to see you there!

These calls started in 2020 as the pandemic was just starting, as a way to cope and strategize. They evolved as the year went on and while much of the hour is centered around animal sheltering, fostering and transport to name a few, discussions around diversity, equity and inclusion are woven into just about everything that is discussed.

Monday’s call is primarily for shelter workers, volunteers and rescue organizations. On Fridays, the call is primarily for executive directors and animal welfare leaders. Starting bright and early at 8:00am Pacific, you sure to start or end your week feeling supported, with some new ideas to boot.

Don’t take our word for it however. On a recent call we asked participants about their favorite things about the calls. From networking, to learning from experts to discussing crucial issues in animal welfare, everyone has their own reasons for coming back as often as possible.

One attendee shared that the information and networking kept them returning each week, and that there is rarely a call they don’t come away with a new idea.

Andrea Giorgio, Shelter Programs Coordinator, Geauga Humane Society’s Rescue Village shared that the calls have helped give her the confidence to pitch new program ideas. “I created a safety net faster program because of the conversations that took place in these calls. It’s called the Community Guardian program.”

Jill Dyche, Executive Director, Outta the Cage appreciates the different perspectives from the variety of pros, adding, “I learn as much from the comments as I do from the speakers!”

Implementing programs has been a big attraction for another attendee, who shared, “These calls have improved my understanding of the different pressures and resource limitations that shelters across the country are facing, and have helped identify ways to put in place win-win programs and arrangements.”

Come see for yourself! There’s a one-time registration required for these calls and you can attend as often as your schedule allows. So, what are you waiting for? See you there!
