Has your animal organization ever dealt with difficult to place dogs? Do you want to learn key factors to ensure the behavioral well-being of them while searching for a suitable home? Camp Maddie: Behavior Edition featured speaker, Michael Shikashio, has you covered! We’re thrilled to share that Shikashio will cover these topics and more in his virtual presentation, Bark to Basics: Avoiding and Addressing Problem Behaviors through Meeting Their Fundamental Needs.

Shikashio is a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), and the founder of AggressiveDog.com. Michael is a five-term president of the International Association of Animal Behavior Consultants (IAABC) and was the 2020 Association of Professional Dog Trainers (APDT) Member of the Year.

Shikashio’s session will highlight key factors to ensure the behavioral well-being of dogs and will explore considerations such as breed, enrichment, social interactions, medical care, and the overall environment. The focus will be on preventive measures to reduce the likelihood of behavioral concerns and effective strategies for addressing existing issues. This presentation aims to guide caretakers in providing comprehensive care for difficult-to-place dogs, ensuring their welfare while searching for a suitable home.

Join us at Camp Maddie: Behavior Edition on March 20 and April 3, 2024 from 9AM – 1PM PT (12PM – 4PM ET) for these (2) free, virtual, half-days that will include presentations, short videos and question & answer sessions about dog behavior.
