Maddie’s Fund® is proud to introduce Learning Paths, hosted on Maddie’s® University. Each path contains content that covers a single topic so you can discover what you need and get on with your day.

Learning Paths are collections with thoughtfully self-paced courses and resources on dog and cat behavior, body language, training, shelter care, program management, foster care, managing unwanted behavior, veterinary support and more!

Currently there are six collections now available, with more to come.

Behavior
Everything you wanted to know about behavior! A series of collections with self-paced courses and resources on dog and cat behavior, body language, training, shelter care, program management, foster care, managing unwanted behavior, veterinary support and more.

Feline Lifesaving
This curriculum covers important concepts and methods in providing positive outcomes for cats and kittens. Topics include matchmaking, marketing, ringworm, FELV, working cats, cat handling and socializing older kittens.

Foster
This comprehensive foster-focused collection includes self-paced courses as well as tons of resources covering foster caregiver recruiting, onboarding, training, engagement and appreciation, marketing and adoption from foster homes, medical support, program management and more.

Sheltering Fundamentals for Shelter Staff and Volunteers
This learning path introduces students to leading edge sheltering theories and practices including the shelter’s role in the community, disease transmission in a shelter setting, cleaning and disinfection, foster programming, adoption counseling, customer service, dog handling, kitten care and pet marketing.

NACA Field Services
The National Animal Care & Control Association (NACA) provides support and standardized training for animal care and control professionals across the United States. This series from NACA includes courses on Community-Centered Programming, Using Tools and Equipment, Communication as a Tool and Canine Behavior in the Field.

Shelter Management Fundamentals
Are you new to a managerial position and want to prepare yourself? Do you want to advance in your animal welfare career? This learning path covers a wide range of shelter management topics chosen to prepare new or aspiring managers.
