Happy New Year! We’re excited to announce January’s Community Conversations host, Miguel Ruelas. Miguel is the Community Resources Manager at Pasadena Humane, bringing over a decade of experience in animal welfare grounded in a human-centered, equity-driven, and community-focused approach. He hosted yesterday’s call,  Get Them Out, Even for a Little, and will host the remaining calls this month, as shown below:

  • 1/12 Money Mindset for Animal Organizations
  • 1/19: No call for Martin Luther King Jr. Day
  • 1/26: The Business Behind Lifesaving
  • You can engage with Miguel on this thread, where several people have already asked questions about reserve funds and rescue burnout.

Register now for the weekly Monday 11AM PT/2PM ET call for animal well-being professionals. These 50-minute calls are a collaborative space to share exciting new programs and research, discuss uncomfortable topics, connect with peers in the industry and more, all while sharing a common goal of preserving the human-animal bond. There’s also $10,000 in grants given away each month to participants!
