Led by Neighborhood Cats’ experienced and knowledgable presenters, TNR (Trap, Neuter and Return) Certification Workshop is packed with practical advice, field-tested techniques, and inspiration to help you develop your trapping skills that can make a real difference for community cats.

If you’re new to TNR, you’ll gain the essential skills needed to kickstart your TNR journey, while experienced trappers can refresh and sharpen their techniques.

Thanks to Maddie, there are scholarships available for the October 3rd workshop.  This 2.5 hour presentation will provide you with the basics of Trap, Neuter and Return. You can use these workshops to pre-train potential volunteers or community members that might be interested in learning more about TNR.

Attendees will learn:

TNR Fundamentals & Humane Trapping Techniques
They’ll cover what TNR is, why it works, and the success metrics that matter—along with a practical gear checklist and site preparation steps.

You’ll also learn how to scout and schedule effectively, handle and transport cats safely, manage post-op return, and track basic data to support ongoing colony care.

Colony Care & Community Relations
They’ll cover effective feeding routines, winter shelter options, and how to communicate with neighbors while resolving the most common community concerns.

Valuable Resources & Certification
Take advantage of the interactive format and live Q&A, extensive handouts, and real-life video footage from actual projects.
