More than 80 percent of nonprofit organizations are losing out on donations because they’re using outdated websites to handle donations.
That’s according to the Chronicle of Philanthropy, writing about a study of 151 groups including some of the largest charities in the U.S.
Why does it matter? From a recent white paper published by Donor Drive:
- Donations double when sites are designed to display well on all screens, mobile, tablet, laptop, or desktop
- Sites that don’t display well across all screens are penalized by Google search
- Between 2011 and 2012, mobile giving on PayPal increased by 242 percent
- 50 percent of emails are opened on mobile devices
