We’re excited to share that two popular self-paced courses on Maddie’s^® University now carry continuing education credits from the Registry of Approved Continuing Education (RACE) program of the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB), in addition to several webcasts:

• The Journey You Own: Practices for Well-being and Productivity (4 hours of RACE credit)
  • It’s time to break free from the draining cycle of reactive responses and embrace a more dynamic and fulfilling path. In this immersive introductory course, you will embark on a journey to explore the depths of your reactions, actions, and emotions, while cultivating a sense of stillness in your daily life.
• Shelter Clinic Management (4.5 hours of RACE credit)
  • This course will teach you to systematize medical treatment and implement lifesaving protocols in your shelter’s medical clinic, balancing quality care with the capacity to care for a large volume of animals.

• Maddie’s^® Million Pet Challenge Learniverse – Curbing Disease as Intake Rises: Prevent, Fight and Win Today (1 hour of RACE credit)
  •  UC Davis Koret Shelter Medicine Program veterinarians Dr. Aziz and Dr. Stuntebeck answer questions and arm shelter staff with the information needed to squash the most concerning infectious diseases in your shelter. Whether you’re providing daily care for animals or reviewing care and intake protocols, you’ll learn practical steps to relieve the strain on animals and team members.
• Maddie’s^® Insights: Social Behavior and Implications for Bonded Pairs in Group-housed Shelter Cats (1 hour of RACE credit)
  • Little is known about the social behavior of cats living in group housing at shelters. In a series of studies, Dr. Malini Suchak and her research team recorded all the social behavior occurring between cats living in group housing and compared cats who were introduced at the shelter versus those who were surrendered together.
• Maddie’s^® Insights: Examining the Relationship between BIPOC Communities and Their Companion Animals (1 hour of RACE credit)
  • Catherine Kisavi-Atatah PhD shares the findings of her publication, Examining the Relationship between BIPOC Communities and Their Companion Animals.
