A 2012 study published in Veterinary Parasitology found that, while antibiotics are frequently
used to treat secondary bacterial infections in dogs with canine generalized demodicosis (CGD), they don’t appear to make much of a difference in outcome. From the study abstract:
Based on these results, systemic antibiotics may not impact as much as previously thought on the actual success of CGD treatment.
