Yesterday we announced the winners of the Get ‘em Home Challenge. (If you missed the announcement, you can watch the recording.) Thanks to your unwavering support for the animals, over 16,000 dogs and cats found new homes!
“We couldn’t be happier with this outcome. The Challenge brought together 109 organizations from nearly every region of the country. These groups collectively stepped out of their comfort zones to try new ideas,” said Dr. Sheila (D’Arpino) Segurson, Director of Research at Maddie’s Fund®. “In all, 4,974 dogs and 11,029 cats found new homes!”
Jacksonville Humane Society (JHS) took top honors with Most Creative Program Overall. JHS created the Long-Stay Task Force that goes into action whenever a dog or cat hits a stay of 30, 60, 90 and 110 days. Actions taken include a paid social media most, a feature in their newsletter and a picture and profile refresh on their website.
The first place Impact Award went to Los Angeles Animal Services in Los Angeles, CA, while Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter in Georgetown, TX, won Most Creative Foster or Adoption Tactic.
Congratulations to all of the winners!
