Pets are one of the best (if not the best) parts of the internet, so why not shout it from the rooftops how much you love them? Today’s the perfect day to do it – it’s Celebrate Shelter Pets Day!

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Celebrate Shelter Pets Day. Started in 2009 by The Shelter Pet Project, the day encourages people to share stories and photos of their adopted pets to friends and families, with the hope that they would be inspired to adopt, too. 

Getting involved is easy! Just share your adopted pets’ photos and stories on social media and tag them with #CelebrateShelterPets, and if you’d like, tag the Shelter Pet Project (@shelterpets on Twitter, @shelterpetproject on Instagram) as well. 

We love any excuse to post more photos of our pets, so count us in!
